Kamala Harris struggles to gain Latino voter support in recent election
Kamala Harris secured only 6 percentage points more support from Latino voters than Donald Trump in the recent election, despite efforts to engage this demographic. This marks a decline from Joe Biden's performance in 2020. Robert Garcia, a co-chair of Harris' campaign, noted that the campaign lost significant support among Latino men. He emphasized the need for the Democratic Party to focus on grassroots efforts and address working-class issues. Polls indicated Harris had initial support from Latino voters, but this decreased by October. While she won Latina women by 22 points, her lead among Latino men was just 3 points on election day.
