Kamen Rider anime focuses on middle-aged fan's journey
Liden Films and Aniplex have released a new trailer for their upcoming anime, “Tojima Tanzaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider.” This series is based on a manga that tells the story of a middle-aged man who gains the powers of his childhood hero, Kamen Rider. The official trailer was showcased at AnimeJapan 2025. It features clips of Tojima's childhood and his current life as a middle-aged fan. The trailer highlights his struggles with loneliness and his desire to fulfill childhood dreams. Tojima’s journey explores themes like mid-life crisis and believing in oneself. The character will be voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, known for roles in popular series such as “Gurren Lagann” and “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” A new poster also shows Tojima in a Kamen Rider mask, emphasizing his emotional journey. This anime aims to connect with older fans who often feel unrepresented in action shows. It highlights that it's never too late to pursue one's dreams and experience new adventures. The series is expected to premiere later in 2025 with scripts by Touko Machida. Previously, there was an anime adaptation of "Fuuto PI," which continued the story of Kamen Rider W. This new series offers hope for fans, showing that life can always bring new opportunities.
