Kannada Rakshana Vedike praises Tamil Nadu's budget language choice
Kannada Rakshana Vedike has praised Tamil Nadu's decision to use the Tamil letter "ரூ" instead of the Devanagari rupee symbol in its budget. This change was made by the Tamil Nadu government in the budget presented on March 14, 2025. The organization emphasized the importance of the Dravidian movement for all South Indian languages and called for unity among southern states to protect these languages. They criticized the Union Government's imposition of Hindi and urged Karnataka's Chief Minister to adopt the Kannada script rupee symbol. Ka.Ra.Ve's president highlighted the historical resistance against Hindi dominance and expressed gratitude for Tamil Nadu's leadership in this matter.
