Chennai: The glass bridge project in Kanyakumari, initially proposed by the AIADMK government in 2018, has been completed. AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami noted that environmental clearance was obtained before the project stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was part of the Sagarmala scheme, with funding shared equally by the central and state governments. After a new tender was issued, Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the bridge, marking its completion. Palaniswami highlighted that the project received quick approval from the Union government in 2018, but work was delayed for several years. The bridge is now officially open to the public.
