Kanye West faces court sanctions and must testify in discrimination case

Kanye West has been ordered to testify in person and has received court sanctions in a discrimination and harassment case filed by a former employee, Benjamin Deshon Provo. A Los Angeles judge mandated that West appear for a deposition by April 29, 2025. Provo's lawyer requested sanctions after West failed to attend a previously scheduled deposition. West's new attorney argued they had agreed on a date, but Provo claimed there was no signed agreement. The judge also ordered West to pay Provo $500 in sanctions within 30 days. Provo's lawsuit alleges discrimination and wrongful termination, claiming West expressed negative views about Black authors during his employment.
