Karachi bans pillion riding for Youm-e-Ali procession

In Karachi, authorities have put a ban on pillion riding today for the Youm-e-Ali procession. This event is held to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali on the 21st of Ramadan. The main procession will start from Nishtar Park and end at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. All schools in the province will be closed to ensure safety during the event. The Sindh Education Department ordered the school closures in light of the procession. Karachi Traffic Police has announced a traffic plan due to road closures. MA Jinnah Road will be shut down from Guru Mandir to Tower. Traffic will be redirected to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazar. Only vehicles with special stickers will be allowed on MA Jinnah Road. Participants can join the procession using specific routes. Those coming from Nazimabad should go towards Garden Jamaat Khana and then follow the path to Numaish Chowrangi. Similar processions will occur in other cities, with strict security measures in place. In Quetta, mobile networks will also be suspended during the processions for safety.
