Karen Read murder case witness list grows to 91

Prosecutors in the murder case against Karen Read have added her defense team to their witness list. The updated list, submitted on Thursday, now includes 91 witnesses. Among them are Read's three attorneys: Alan Jackson, Elizabeth Little, and David Yannetti. The addition of the defense team to the list has raised eyebrows. Jack Lu, a retired judge, noted that while it is not common to include opposing lawyers as witnesses, it has happened before. He mentioned that Special Prosecutor Hank Brennan appears to be playing to win, keeping his options open as the case unfolds. Lu expressed skepticism about whether the prosecution will actually call the defense attorneys to testify. He described the case as unusual and full of surprises. The updated witness list comes amid tensions between both sides. During a pretrial hearing, Judge Beverly J. Cannone urged both parties to focus on the legal motions and avoid personal attacks.
