Karnataka bandh conflicts with ISC exam schedule
Bengaluru: Class 12 students in Karnataka are anxious as their ISC exam for home science is scheduled for Saturday, March 22. This exam coincides with a Karnataka bandh called by pro-Kannada groups. The bandh is set to last from dawn to dusk. While there is no SSLC exam that day, the ISC exam is planned for the afternoon. After learning about the situation, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) contacted schools to gather feedback from parents. Robert Khin, from Bethany High School, mentioned that their school has 18 students taking the exam. Parents have indicated they can bring students to school, but there is concern that the government might close schools due to safety issues. The Karnataka State ICSE Schools Association believes the exam will proceed as planned. There are about 50 ISC schools in the state, including 20 in Bengaluru. Parents and schools are hoping for normalcy on the exam day. They prefer not to postpone the exam to avoid delays in results.
