Karnataka bandh ineffective in Uttara Kannada district

The Karnataka bandh organized by various Kannada groups on Saturday had little effect in Uttara Kannada district. Life went on as normal across all 12 taluks, including the main town of Karwar. Local Kannada organizations did not support the bandh, and no notable protests occurred. In Karwar, buses and autorickshaws operated normally. Shops and the fish market were open, and activities at the port and fisheries continued without interruption. Other towns like Sirsi, Kumta, Dandeli, and Bhatkal also saw no impact from the bandh. Bus services between states and districts remained uninterrupted. This is not the first time calls for a bandh have failed to gather support in the district, despite Kannada being the primary language for many residents.
