Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy announced on Wednesday that the Karnataka Bhavan in Varanasi will be rebuilt. The project is expected to cost ₹36 crore. The building, built in 1928 by the Maharaja of Mysore, is now in poor condition. During a Legislative Council meeting, Reddy explained that the old structure has become dilapidated. Another building, about 40 years old, is also not safe. He mentioned that during recent renovations at Harishchandra Ghat, part of the compound collapsed. Therefore, the government plans to demolish the old buildings and construct a new one. Reddy also provided updates on the Karnataka Bhavan located in Tirumala. He stated that 36 VIP rooms and a choultry for 500 people are under construction. One block of the building has already opened for pilgrims. T.A. Sharavana, a member of the Janata Dal (Secular), asked the government to restart Anna Dasoha at Tirumala. This program would provide meals for pilgrims from Karnataka. Sharavana also raised concerns about the lack of maintenance for the new building.
