Karnataka denies grace marks for class 10 exams
Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that class 10 students will not receive grace marks for their exams this year. He made this statement in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on March 20, ahead of the exams starting on March 21. Siddaramaiah explained that grace marks were given last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he opposes their use this year. Instead, the government will provide free transport for students heading to their examination centers. Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa discussed the government's preparations to ensure that the class 10 examinations run smoothly. Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashok, called for strict action against individuals sharing fake question papers online. He urged the Education Department to raise awareness about this issue.
