Karnataka food corporation recruitment suspended due to funds

Bengaluru: Recruitment for 386 jobs at the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (KFCSC) is on hold due to financial issues. The finance department has not approved the recruitment process and cited budget constraints as the reason. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had started the recruitment process by issuing a notification in June 2023. Exams took place in October and November 2023, with final marks released in June last year. KFCSC recently shortlisted candidates for document verification, but the finance department intervened just before the final steps. In January, the finance department instructed KFCSC's managing director, MV Chandrakanth, to stop the recruitment and submit a financial report first. Despite reassurances from KFCSC officials, the finance department expressed concerns over funding availability. Chandrakanth mentioned there are technical issues causing the delay and promised resolution soon. KFCSC is working on answering questions from the food and civil supplies department to proceed with approval. Candidates have expressed frustration about the ongoing delay. Some were left out of the shortlist despite high scores, while others are anxious about their job prospects. One candidate shared that they met with KFCSC leaders to urge faster action on the appointments. With the process stalled again, many job seekers are worried about their future, especially since they face age limits for other job opportunities.
