Karnataka minister releases audio clips alleging derogatory remarks by BJP MLC as council chairman denies recordings
Karnataka Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar released two audio clips alleging that BJP MLC CT Ravi used derogatory language against her during a legislative council session on December 19. This incident led to protests and Ravi's arrest, which was later deemed illegal by the High Court. Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti stated that no official recordings of the incident exist, calling circulating videos "fake." He emphasized that the incident occurred after the council was adjourned and confirmed the House's adjournment sine die. Horatti noted that the Women's Commission's involvement is a personal matter for Hebbalkar, as no formal complaints were filed. He clarified that the incident was misrepresented as happening within the council, which he stated was incorrect.
