Karnataka plans to recognize Tulu as official language
Mangaluru Speaker UT Khader announced plans to discuss the recognition of Tulu as Karnataka's second official language after the budget session. Initial discussions have already begun with community scholars and the chief minister. Khader also mentioned plans to create a Tulu Village in Ullal to promote Tulu culture and traditions to tourists. This site will include annual events and aims to enhance local engagement with the language. Additionally, Khader proposed launching a Tulu weekly newspaper and organizing book fairs to support Tulu literature. The importance of preserving Tulu and other minor languages in Karnataka was emphasized during the event.
