Karnataka proposes mega jewellery park near Bengaluru airport
Industries Minister M.B. Patil has proposed a large plot of land near Bengaluru’s international airport for a new mega Jewellery Park. This announcement was made during the IIJS Tritiya 2025, a business-to-business jewellery expo held in the city on Friday. Patil emphasized that the location will benefit from Karnataka’s strong policies and excellent infrastructure. During the event, the minister expressed pride in showcasing India’s craftsmanship and creativity in the gem and jewellery sector. He highlighted the government's commitment to building a supportive environment for the industry. Patil encouraged business leaders to take advantage of the opportunities available in Karnataka. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, also spoke at the event. He noted that, despite global challenges like political uncertainties and trade tariffs, the gem and jewellery sector in India is thriving. Bhansali expressed confidence in reaching an export target of $70 billion by 2030, thanks to growing trade agreements and government support.
