Karnataka's Chief Secretary highlights technology's positive impact

Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh spoke on the importance of embracing technology positively during her address at the JSS Science and Technology University convocation on Monday. She encouraged students to focus on lifelong learning, ethical innovation, and inclusive growth. Rajneesh emphasized that the future is built together and should be smart, sustainable, and equitable. She called on graduates to be changemakers, linking innovation with humanity. She also highlighted the critical role of universities in supporting skill development and knowledge creation in a changing technological environment. The Chief Secretary pointed out that collaboration between academia and industry is essential to bridge the gap between education and real-world needs. She urged universities to create technology incubators and foster start-up ecosystems to better prepare students for future challenges. Rajneesh reminded students that their learning has just begun and encouraged them to be innovators and entrepreneurs while holding onto their ethical values. She mentioned that India is experiencing a new industrial revolution driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and other technologies. During the convocation, 1,678 students graduated, receiving degrees across various disciplines. A total of 148 ranks and 64 medals were awarded for outstanding academic achievements. Rajneesh expressed gratitude to JSS STU for its commitment to excellence in education.
