Karren Brady feels unsafe after multiple break-ins
Karren Brady, a well-known businesswoman and television personality, has expressed her fear after experiencing four break-ins at her £6 million mansion in Belgravia. The break-ins occurred in just 16 hours, leaving her and her family feeling uneasy and unsafe. The burglar, Gregory Adane, a 41-year-old former chef, broke into Brady's home on May 16 last year. He stole expensive items, including designer cycling tops, a £1,700 Prada bag, and Amazon parcels valued at over £2,500. These incidents happened while Brady was away at work. After pleading guilty to two counts of burglary and theft, Adane received an 18-month suspended sentence from London’s Southwark crown court. Brady shared an impact statement in which she detailed how these events have affected her daily life. She described feeling “targeted, watched, and exploited” and noted that her sense of safety has been destroyed. Brady now finds it difficult to feel secure in her home. She wakes up at every little noise and has made significant changes to her security measures, including setting alarms and installing security lights. The repeated nature of the break-ins has profoundly changed the way she lives. Judge David Tomlinson gave Adane a “last chance” but warned him that any further violations could lead to prison time.
