Kate Middleton explains family's move to Windsor for space
Princess Kate Middleton recently explained her family's move from London to Windsor. During a conversation with soldiers at a St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 17, she shared, "We are in Windsor at the moment. We were in London but moved there for more green space." Kate noted that Windsor is close enough to London, making it a convenient location for her family. She, along with Prince William and their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—moved from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park in the summer of 2022. The house is just a short walk from Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II lived before her passing in September 2022. A source mentioned that the move excited the entire family, as it allowed them to be closer to the late queen and still near London. This relocation also coincided with the children's enrollment at a new school, Lambrook School in Berkshire. While they now reside in Windsor, Kensington Palace continues to serve as the couple's administrative base and remains a popular tourist attraction with exhibitions like the royal fashion display running until November 2025. In related news, King Charles III has been involved in property matters, including a recent purchase next to Queen Camilla’s home. This move was made to prevent a potential wedding venue from being built next door. The new property was bought without using any public funds.
