Kaya-Iloilo and Stallion FC win PFF Women’s League openers

Kaya-Iloilo and Stallion FC started the 2025 PFF Women’s League with impressive victories over the weekend. Kaya-Iloilo won big, defeating the University of Santo Tomas 8-0. A notable player in the match was Julissa Cisneros, who scored three goals, also known as a hat-trick. Cisneros highlighted the importance of these games for women’s football. "What we’re doing here means a lot to generations that follow," she said. Fans showed great support, coming out to the match at the Mall of Asia Football Pitch. The atmosphere there was described as wonderful. Kaya-Iloilo scored early, with Cisneros netting the first goal in the eighth minute. Hali Long, the national team captain, quickly added another goal. Cisneros scored again in the 47th and 68th minutes, while teammates Julia Humphreys, Janly Fontanillas, and Dionesa Tolentin contributed to the score as well. Stallion FC also had a good start. They won 2-0 against the University of the Philippines. Goals from Sierra Castles and Kala McDaniel secured their victory. Defender Rhea Chan said the team came out strong and faced a tough challenge from their opponents. Both teams now sit at the top of the league standings with three points each.
