KEA denies Kerala students' request to reschedule CET-2025

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has turned down a request from two students from Kerala to delay the Common Entrance Test (CET-2025). The exam is set to take place from April 15 to 17. The students argued that these dates conflict with religious ceremonies related to Good Friday week in Kerala. The two students, Liya Wilson and Binsha Maria Shibu, applied to the High Court for a reschedule. However, they withdrew their request when the court noted that they had not first approached KEA. The court gave KEA a deadline of March 17 to respond to their petition. On Monday, KEA officially rejected the request. They stated that keeping the exam dates as scheduled is important to ensure the academic calendar for 2025-26 remains intact. They also mentioned that other exams for students are scheduled around the same time, which would be disrupted by a change. Despite this, KEA has rescheduled the Kannada language exam for certain candidates. Originally set for April 18, it will now take place on April 15. Of the 2,537 students registered for this exam, 115 are from the Christian community.
