Keenan backs Meade's runner at Naas today
The Flat turf season in Ireland began at the Curragh with eight races and eight different trainers winning. It has made it hard to assess which stables are in good form. More flat races are expected before the Punchestown Festival. Jessica Harrington did not win last week but her horse, Kodilicious, showed promise. Kodilicious is competing in the Ron McKnight Memorial Madrid Handicap at Naas at 3:48 PM. She had a challenging juvenile season but managed to win comfortably in her second race at Sligo on soft ground. After that win, Kodilicious struggled to find her preferred ground. In her last race in October, she finished fifth, but her performance suggested she may need a longer distance. In her final race as a two-year-old at Newmarket, she finished a close second, again hinting that a longer distance would benefit her. Today, Kodilicious runs in a race with a longer trip, and her conditions look good. She remains at the same rating as her last race, but her odds have decreased overnight. If the track suits her, she has a strong chance of performing well.
