Kelowna man becomes policy director for Prime Minister Carney
A man from Kelowna has been appointed to a key position in the Prime Minister's Office. Tim Krupa is now the policy director for Prime Minister Mark Carney. This was confirmed by Stephen Fuhr, a former Liberal MP from Kelowna. Krupa previously ran as the Liberal candidate in the 2021 election. Fuhr described Krupa as a talented young man and emphasized that this role is important for the Kelowna community. Krupa is an Oxford University graduate and has experience working in the Prime Minister's Office when Justin Trudeau was first elected. He has also worked as an economist at Goldman Sachs. It is unclear how long Krupa will remain in this position. His future in the role is tied to how Prime Minister Carney performs in the upcoming election. Carney was sworn in as Prime Minister on Friday. He is expected to call an election before March 24, when Parliament returns. Under Canadian election rules, the campaign must last between 37 and 51 days, suggesting an election could take place in late April or early May.
