Kerala CM to visit districts for anniversary celebrations
The state cabinet has announced plans to celebrate the government's fourth anniversary with events from April 21 to May 21. This will be a month-long series of activities across the state, districts, and local bodies. The chief minister will begin a tour of all districts starting in Kasaragod and ending in Thiruvananthapuram. During the celebrations, the chief minister will meet with beneficiaries of various government programs and notable figures. Each district will host a week-long exhibition and sale. District conferences will take place on specific dates: Kasaragod and Wayanad on April 21 and 22; Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Kottayam on April 24, 28, and 29; Palakkad, Kollam, and Ernakulam on May 5, 6, and 7; and Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Alappuzha, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram from May 12 to 21. Various departments will organize public programs targeting youth, women, and SC/ST communities. The celebrations will also include cultural events, discussions on higher education, science and technology meetings, sports events, and other festivities. Additionally, the chief minister will lead four zonal meetings to review development work in each district. Participants will include ministers and department heads, who will discuss any issues in ongoing projects. These meetings will build on similar discussions from September and October 2023. The review will focus on development projects requested by MLAs, initiatives from the Nava Keralam conclave, and the renovation of rural roads. The progress of important government initiatives, such as combating extreme poverty and achieving a waste-free state, will also be assessed.
