Kerala lists 997 repeat offenders in drug cases

Kerala Police has compiled a list of 497 repeat offenders in drug cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and 500 under the Abkari Act. This effort aims to strengthen the crackdown on drug trafficking. Excise Minister M.B. Rajesh announced that the movements of these offenders are closely monitored by various Excise officials. Raids are conducted based on intelligence gathered from this monitoring. The Excise department is also preparing proposals to detain individuals involved in multiple serious drug cases. Additionally, shops near schools suspected of selling drugs to students are under constant surveillance.
