Kerala will receive a third Vande Bharat Express
Southern Railway is planning to introduce a third Vande Bharat Express train in Kerala. This decision comes as passenger demand for the existing trains is high, especially during peak hours. Currently, there are two Vande Bharat trains operating in Kerala. These trains connect Mangaluru Central with Thiruvananthapuram Central and Kasaragod with Thiruvananthapuram Central. Both are running at full capacity. Southern Railway is looking into new routes for the third train. They are also considering using chair car coaches from other states. The goal is to add services without disrupting the current train schedules. In addition, there are ongoing efforts to upgrade railway infrastructure in Kerala. This includes plans to speed up trains on the Mangaluru-Shoranur route and improve signals on the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam route. Railway officials noted that public demand for more Vande Bharat services is increasing. The introduction of the third train will depend on the availability of tracks and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
