Khawaja Asif ready to resign over Pakistan's security issues
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated he is willing to resign if it would help resolve security issues in Pakistan. This comes after opposition parties blamed the government for a recent terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express. Asif acknowledged the criticism regarding security failures but emphasized his readiness to step down. The opposition has called for the resignations of several ministers, citing a security lapse. A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security is scheduled for March 18, where military leaders will brief lawmakers on the country's security challenges amid rising violence and terrorist attacks.
