Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister's convoy faces police tear gas in Punjab
A convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, faced heavy police resistance while traveling from Swabi to Islamabad. Law enforcement used tear gas to disperse the crowd near key checkpoints in Punjab. Despite the police intervention, Gandapur urged supporters to continue their march for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. The PTI plans to hold a protest at D-Chowk, despite government warnings against gatherings in Islamabad. In response to the planned protest, the government has fortified Islamabad, sealing roads and deploying security forces. Several PTI leaders have been arrested, and authorities may suspend internet services in high-risk areas to prevent unrest.
