Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forces repel attacks on police posts

Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa successfully repelled terrorist attacks on police posts in Bannu and Kohat. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in either incident. Late last night, terrorists armed with modern weapons targeted the Kangar Pul police post in Miran, Bannu. Quick and decisive action from police forced the attackers to flee. Sources confirm that the officers defended their post effectively, avoiding any loss of life or property. Additional police personnel responded quickly and began a search operation to find the escaping militants. Bannu police noted that the Kangar Pul post has faced multiple attacks in the past. To honor the bravery of the officers, Brig Naveed Ahmed, the Bannu Cantt 116 Brigade Commander, visited the post. He awarded cash prizes to the police who defended it during the attack. Regional Police Officer Imran Shahid and District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed joined the ceremony. In a separate incident in Kohat, police thwarted an attack at the Muslimabad police checkpost on the Indus Highway. Around 10 to 15 terrorists launched an assault after breaking their fast. However, police responded forcefully, leading to a 30-minute gun battle. The attackers retreated into the surrounding hills. A search operation followed to locate them, and DIG Abbas Majeed Marwat confirmed that no injuries occurred. Additionally, police in Khyber district recovered and defused an explosive device in Torkham. The Landikotal police found the device at Tatara Ground and neutralized the threat, ensuring safety for the public.
