Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials urged to uphold neutrality ahead of PTI protests
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary has urged provincial officials to resist any pressure to misuse state resources amid upcoming protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. This follows directives from the Interior Ministry to avoid using state machinery for political activities. In a letter, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry emphasized the duty of public servants to remain neutral and uphold the law. He warned that any misuse of resources for political purposes would lead to serious consequences. The PTI, led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is planning a nationwide protest on November 24 against alleged election rigging and other issues. Reports suggest the KP government may use emergency service vehicles for the protest, raising concerns about the use of state resources.
