King Charles may revoke Meghan Markle's royal titles

King Charles may consider taking away some of Meghan Markle's royal titles. This follows recent actions taken by the Swedish royal family that emphasize traditional royal protocols. Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, recently launched her Netflix show titled "With Love, Meghan," along with her new lifestyle brand, As Ever. Even after stepping back from her royal duties in 2020, she continues to use her titles granted during her marriage to Prince Harry. In her show, Meghan has emphasized her title as "Meghan Sussex." For example, she corrected a friend who referred to her as "Meghan Markle." Additionally, she launched a fashion website using her initials "ms" instead of "mm," showcasing her focus on her private ventures. The British royal family has yet to respond to Meghan's recent business activities. However, the Swedish royal family has set an example by refusing to use royal titles for personal businesses. Princess Madeleine, for instance, will use her name without her title for her skincare line, as agreed with the Royal Court. It remains unclear how King Charles and Prince William will respond to this situation. Royal protocol prohibits using royal titles for commercial purposes, as outlined in a specific section of the Trade Marks Act 1994. This law aims to protect the royal insignia and titles from commercial use without approval.
