Kirori exposes land mafia issues in Alwar district
Cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena raised concerns about illegal land grabbing in Alwar district. He said that local officials face pressure not to act against the "land mafia." Meena criticized the encroachment of temple land as a serious offense. During a surprise visit to the Alwar Urban Improvement Trust (AUIT), Meena met with officials. He noted that the AUIT secretary was absent. Officials expressed feeling "helpless" against powerful land grabbers. Meena demanded detailed information about government land that is illegally occupied and questioned why many cases of encroachment have been ignored. Meena claimed that land mafias are operating openly in Alwar. He stated that they would face consequences, regardless of their power. He mentioned a specific case involving a well-known builder and said he had informed the chief secretary about it. The minister emphasized that no one is above the law. If wrongdoing is found, action will be taken according to rules. Meena also inspected hotels and structures operating illegally in the Siliserh wetland area and called for uniform action against all illegal occupations. He stressed the need for immediate removal of these encroachments.
