Kishan Reddy criticizes DMK for misleading delimitation claims
Union Coal Minister and BJP Telangana Chief G Kishan Reddy addressed concerns about delimitation in India on Sunday. He accused the DMK party from Tamil Nadu of spreading "falsehoods" to distract from corruption allegations ahead of the assembly elections in 2026. Reddy made these comments during a press conference in Hyderabad. He assured the public that there was no current discussion about delimitation in the central government or within the BJP. He noted that any delimitation process would begin only after the upcoming Census, which is still a year away. His remarks follow a meeting called by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, where various opposition parties discussed delimitation issues. Reddy criticized this meeting, urging Stalin to focus on the state's liquor scandal instead of spreading misleading information. He argued that the DMK is revisiting fear-based tactics from previous elections, particularly regarding the imposition of Hindi and potential changes to the constitution. Additionally, Reddy suggested there is a connection between Congress and Telangana's opposition BRS, as both attended the Chennai meeting.
