Kobe Bryant's signed sneakers auctioned starting at $150,000
A pair of signed sneakers worn by Kobe Bryant will be auctioned by Sotheby’s. The auction starts with a reserve price of $150,000, but experts believe it could sell for as much as $300,000. These sneakers hold special significance. They were worn during a memorable game on December 5, 2012, when Bryant became the youngest player to score 30,000 career points. He achieved this milestone against the New Orleans Hornets, finishing the game with 29 points. The shoes are notably inscribed by Bryant. The left shoe reads "30K 12-5-12," marking the date of his achievement. They come certified with a letter of provenance explaining how they were acquired from a fan who knew the basketball star. Kobe Bryant tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. He was with his daughter Gianna and several friends at the time. A private collector is now selling the shoes after keeping them for twelve years, specifically in 2025, which they refer to as Nike's year of the Black Mamba, a nickname for Bryant.
