Kobe Savage enters 2025 NFL draft due to uncertainty
Kobe Savage, a safety, was planning to return to the University of Oregon for the 2025 season. However, confusion over NCAA rules made him decide to stay in the NFL draft instead. Savage played two seasons at Tyler Junior College before joining Kansas State. A recent court ruling allowed some former junior college players to get another year of eligibility. But it was unclear if this ruling would also apply to Savage. On January 27, he announced he would stay in the NFL draft. This decision came just hours after he learned he might not be able to return to college football. Savage shared that he was training with his team when he received the news from a close friend. This friend's call to the compliance office revealed that his chances of getting his eligibility back were slim. According to Savage, he quickly adapted to the situation, found agents, and arranged to train in California.
