Kodagu police promote legal awareness in schools

Kodagu district police have launched new initiatives to address crime and promote safety. One of the key efforts is a cultural club aimed at enhancing the talents of police personnel. The police are also running legal awareness campaigns in local schools and colleges. This program is led by Superintendent of Police K Ramarajan. The aim is to educate students about legal issues, especially as crimes against children and offenses by minors are on the rise nationwide. So far, police have visited ten educational institutions to spread awareness. They focus on several key topics. One major goal is to prevent drug abuse among young people. Police are holding sessions for students starting from grade six, explaining the legal consequences of drug involvement. Additionally, the program covers cybercrime awareness. Students learn about safe online practices and how to protect themselves from potential dangers. Traffic rule violations are also discussed. Police are using videos to show students the real-life impact of accidents caused by ignoring these rules. The sessions also address the serious issue of sexual abuse. Students are encouraged to report any abusive situations immediately. Overall, the Kodagu police are working to ensure that young people understand the legal system and their responsibilities as citizens.
