Koei Tecmo investigating save file issues in Rise of the Ronin
The game "Rise of the Ronin" is facing major problems on PC, just a week after its release on Steam. Many players have reported that their save files are being wiped, which can be very frustrating, especially for those who have invested a lot of time into the game. In response to these issues, developer Koei Tecmo acknowledged the bug in a post on Steam. They are currently investigating the cause of the save data loss and are working on a solution. Although there is no fix yet, Koei Tecmo offered a few temporary workarounds. One suggestion involves checking if the documents folder is set to file sharing. Turning this setting off might help prevent the data loss, though Koei does not guarantee it will work. Additionally, they provided instructions on recovering save data by renaming a specific file on your computer. Koei Tecmo also mentioned the option of using Steam's Cloud save feature. If prompted to choose which save file to keep, they advise players to back up local save data first. A full patch to address all the problems with "Rise of the Ronin" is expected to be released soon, but players may want to wait for this update before diving back into the game.
