Kohli needs 38 runs to achieve historic milestone
Virat Kohli is set to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2025 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22. In this game, he has a chance to make history. If Kohli scores at least 38 runs, he will become the first batter ever to reach 1000 runs in the IPL against four different teams. Currently, he has 8004 runs from 252 IPL matches. So far, he has scored 1053 runs against Chennai Super Kings, 1057 runs against Delhi Capitals, and 1030 runs against Punjab Kings. Kohli has 962 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders over 34 matches. If he crosses the 1000-run mark against KKR, he will join a select group of batters to achieve this. David Warner holds the record for most runs against KKR, with 1093 runs in 28 matches. This match will also mark Kohli's 400th T20 match, making him only the third Indian to reach this milestone. If he scores 114 runs during the game, he will become the fifth batter globally to reach 13,000 runs in T20s. Kohli’s performance will be closely watched as he aims to set multiple records.
