Kolkata airport to increase daily flights to 100 by 2025, says minister
Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport will soon handle 100 daily flights, according to Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. Currently, the airport operates 15 international and 49 domestic flights. The minister announced plans to increase annual passenger traffic from 2.6 million to over 4 million by introducing a new terminal by November 2025. Daily aircraft usage has risen from 264 to 400. Additionally, a new 'Uran Café' will be trialed at the airport, marking a first in India. The minister also highlighted ongoing improvements to other airports in West Bengal to support economic growth.
