Kolkata IT executive died by suicide due to depression

A 50-year-old IT executive, Dwaipayan Bhattacharjee, died by suicide at his office in New Town, Kolkata, on March 19, 2025. He was found in the parking lot of the office building by security guards shortly after logging in for work. Police say Bhattacharjee had been struggling with depression and was receiving treatment for his mental health issues. He leaves behind a wife and two children. Authorities have opened a case of unnatural death at the Techno City Police Station. The body has been sent for an autopsy. After being discovered, Bhattacharjee was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police are investigating the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage and examining electronic devices for more information.
