Kolkata plans new foot overbridge at Patuli Bazar Crossing for pedestrian safety
The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) is starting plans for a foot overbridge at Patuli Bazar Crossing, following recommendations from the Kolkata Traffic Police. The project is estimated to cost Rs 3.8 crore and aims to enhance pedestrian safety. This will be the third foot overbridge on the EM Bypass, joining those at Chingrighata and Patuli Ghoshpara. The new bridge is expected to have similar features to the existing ones and must be completed within a year. KMDA is also converting two culverts into pedestrian subways to further improve safety. Additionally, police are increasing night checks at various locations to reduce pedestrian accidents.
