Korean Air resumes Boeing 747-8 flights to London
Korean Air plans to resume flights using its Boeing 747-8 jet to London Heathrow Airport starting this August. This will mark the return of the airline’s largest aircraft on this route after a break. The airline already offers services to London Heathrow from Seoul Incheon Airport. However, the introduction of the Boeing 747-8 will add more capacity to the popular route. The first flights with the 747-8 are set to start on specific days in late July 2025, with full regular service commencing in August. In July, Korean Air will operate four flights using the Boeing 747-8, offering a total of 1,472 seats. Starting in August, these flights will occur four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Currently, Korean Air also serves Los Angeles and Hong Kong with the Boeing 747-8. London Heathrow will have the fewest flights compared to these destinations, but the addition of the 747-8 reflects Korean Air's commitment to the London market. The airline has a strong schedule for flights from Seoul to London. Along with the Boeing 747-8 services, Korean Air will offer 27 flights each way using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in July 2025. The Boeing 747-8 can carry up to 368 passengers across three class types. The airline is optimistic that its expanded services will be successful in meeting demand for travel between London and Seoul.
