Krishnasamy advocates Scheduled Caste census in Tamil Nadu
K. Krishnasamy, president of the Puthiya Tamilagam party, has called for a caste-based census among Scheduled Castes in Tamil Nadu. He argues this will improve the implementation of reservation policies, which he claims currently favor certain groups. Krishnasamy highlighted that previous reservations, like the 3% for Arundathiyars, mainly benefited non-Tamil speakers. He urged the government to recognize the needs of other Scheduled Castes and plans a rally in Tiruchi on May 17 to advocate for these changes. He criticized the DMK government for not fulfilling election promises, including the scrapping of NEET and reducing property tax. He also expressed concerns about the state budget and the government's stance on the National Education Policy.
