Krypto the Superdog to make live-action debut in James Gunn's Superman movie
Director James Gunn announced that Krypto the Superdog will make his live-action debut in the upcoming Superman movie. This marks the character's first appearance in the DC Extended Universe. Gunn shared the news to celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog month. He revealed that Krypto was inspired by his own dog, Ozu, who faced challenges after being rescued from a hoarding situation. Krypto, a superpowered dog from Krypton, has appeared in many animated films but not in live-action before. He will appear in Gunn's Superman, set for summer 2025, and later in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in June 2026.
