Kukrail river project halts sewage flow from 17 drains in Lucknow

The Kukrail river interception and diversion project has been completed, stopping untreated sewage from 17 drains. The ₹67.65 crore initiative includes a 6 km sewer line directing sewage to a treatment plant. Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh confirmed the project's success, stating that untreated sewage flow into the river has been completely halted. Officials plan to implement similar projects to manage sewage from other city drains, aiming to improve urban water management and environmental protection.
