Kumar Mangalam Birla named 'Business Icon of the Year'

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, has been awarded the title of ‘Business Icon of the Year’ at the Business Today India’s Best CEOs Awards. He is recognized for his leadership in expanding the group into new sectors like electric vehicles, renewable energy, semiconductors, and high-end electronics. Recently, Birla announced a significant investment of ₹45,000 crore to develop Hindalco’s aluminium and copper businesses. This move highlights his dedication to India’s industrial development. During the BT Mindrush 2024 event, Birla shared five important principles for creating a successful global conglomerate. He stressed the importance of sanity over vanity, mutual respect, and learning from international markets. Birla's vision for the future aligns with India's growth goals. This sentiment was echoed by Aroon Purie, Chairman of the India Today Group, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who received the Impact Icon of the Year award. The BT India’s Best CEOs Awards celebrated a total of 16 outstanding business leaders for their exceptional contributions.
