The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a local revenue officer in Kutch district for accepting a bribe. Chandrika Garoda, who works as talati-cum-mantri in Desalpar village, was caught on Friday while taking Rs 2,000. The bribe was demanded to process a complaint regarding land status. A local resident needed this to confirm their application for 525 square meters of government land to set up a restaurant. Unhappy with the demand for a bribe, the resident reported the issue to the ACB. In response, the ACB set up a trap at the village panchayat office. During the operation, Garoda was caught discussing and accepting the bribe, confirming the allegations against her.
