KVS Balvatika admission opens for 2025-26 academic year
Kendriya Vidyalaya Balvatika is a new pre-primary education program in India. It is part of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and targets children aged 3 to 6 years. The program aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and focuses on play-based learning. The admission process for the 2025-26 session has started. Prior to Balvatika, KVS only offered schooling from Class 1 onward. Parents can find all related information on the official KVS website. To qualify for the program, children must be within certain age ranges. Bal Vatika 1 is for children aged 3 to 4, Bal Vatika 2 for ages 4 to 5, and Bal Vatika 3 for ages 5 to 6. Bal Vatika 1 and 3 applications are accepted online from March 7 to March 21, 2025. Bal Vatika 2 applications must be submitted offline between April 2 and April 11, 2025. Admissions are based on a lottery system with no entrance exam. Priority is given to children of Central Government employees and those from reserved categories. The first selection list will be released on March 26, 2025. Documents required for application include a birth certificate, proof of residence, and certificates for government service or reserved categories when applicable. The monthly fee for the program is approximately Rs 500, which includes a development fund. However, children admitted under certain categories, like the Right to Education (RTE) quota, can attend for free. To apply, parents should visit the official KVS website, register, fill in the required details, upload documents, and submit the application. Currently, Balvatika is available in over 450 Kendriya Vidyalayas. It operates for three hours a day, five days a week, and does not require uniforms.
