LA DA declines to charge producer despite allegations
The Los Angeles County District Attorney announced that no charges will be filed against Hollywood producer David Guillod. He faced allegations of over 15 sex crimes, including rape and sexual assault. Guillod was arrested more than four years ago. He was accused of multiple offenses against four women in California from 2014 to 2020. However, judges in Santa Barbara County dismissed charges against four of the six alleged victims. Only two cases were deferred to the LA County DA's office. The DA's office stated they could not prove the sexual assault allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. They acknowledged the serious nature of the claims and expressed empathy for the victims. There is enough evidence to move forward with charges related to two separate incidents. One involves actress Jessica Barth, who accused Guillod of drugging and assaulting her in 2012. The other case involves an unnamed waitress, who claimed she was raped in 2018. Guillod has denied the allegations throughout the investigation. His attorney has claimed that evidence would support his innocence. The DA's office urged victims of sexual abuse to come forward and report their experiences.
