The decision follows a similar move by the Guardian, which left the platform earlier this week. La Vanguardia's editor criticized X for lacking effective moderation since Musk's acquisition in 2022. The newspaper noted an increase in toxic content, including hate speech and misinformation, which it claims has been exacerbated by the presence of bots. The Barcelona-based paper, with 1.7 million followers, will allow its journalists to keep personal accounts but will suspend its official presence. X has not responded to requests for comment on the situation.
