Labour members dissatisfied, see Reform UK as threat
A new poll shows that many Labour Party members are unhappy with their leaders, Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves. About half of those surveyed believe the party is moving in the wrong direction. The poll, conducted by Survation among over 2,000 LabourList readers, reveals that Starmer is the 17th most popular cabinet member, while Reeves has the lowest approval rating. Over 30% of members think Labour should change leaders before the next election. Most Labour members seem more concerned about the rise of Reform UK than the Conservatives. About 71% view Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, as the biggest threat to the Conservatives. Only 16% identified Kemi Badenoch's Conservatives as a serious threat. Expectations for Labour’s success in the next election are low. Only 6% believe the party will win a large majority, while many expect a hung parliament or a small majority. Energy Secretary Ed Miliband is currently the most popular member of the cabinet with a favorability rating of +68.6. In contrast, Starmer has a rating of +13.83 and Reeves is at -11.19. Nearly half of respondents credit Starmer with improving Labour, but many also think the party is not governing well. Health issues are seen as the most important to tackle, followed closely by the economy and the cost of living. Tom Belger, the editor of LabourList, warned that the leadership should take note of this unrest if they want to mobilize support for upcoming elections.
